Recoveries

The Partners at Copping Joyce act as property receivers (also known as LPA Receivers) and are specialists in property insolvency. They are able to assist in the recovery of bank and other fixed charge and secured lending debts. They have been advising banks in our core areas for well over 15 years, and work closely with business support and debt recovery units to provide pre-appointment advice, as well as acting as fixed charge receivers.

This advice may well involve refinancing or loan restructuring, or a disposal and exit strategy. In each case we will advise on the most appropriate method of sale and appoint agents to deal with the case depending on location and specialisation. Often banks will build out a project themselves, selling the individual units on the open market, utilising our building surveying department to oversee the project, as project managers. If it is an investment with long term potential, we will appoint managing agents.

As well as acting for many banks, we also act for some of the major insolvency practices and accountancy firms, providing them with valuation advice, acting as their agents on disposals of properties and providing opinions of fair price valuations.
